Steven Grabo

A guy who’s been everywhere, yet no one can pronounce his name!
Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Steven Grabo has been performing all his life, with training ranging from the vocal and theater teachings of Katherine Heckard, tutorial classes at Carnegie Mellon and Millersville University as well as studied under Hollywood icon Mala Powers, who at the time was the executor to the Michael Chekhov Studios in Los Angeles, California. From 1994 – 98, Steve was the front man for the progressive rock band IRIS, under the Rockville Record label. He has also written, voiced and produced thousands of studio productions and radio programs, including the comical snippets of “The Elderly Super friends”. Steve still thinks he can be found playing a mental patient in Columbia Picture’s “Girl Interrupted” (Although all his scenes were actually cut). From 1999-2001 He was the production Director for The Adventure Radio Group, in South Carolina. There he Produced, Wrote, and voiced the majority of the commercials for the company, while being a full-time On Air personality for 5 of their 7 stations. It was there that Steve came up with the concept of forming a comedic acting troupe. In mid 2000, after winning several awards at the AMTC National Convention, he moved on to work with Writer/Director Genevieve Ramsey’s “Pushcart Players” for two seasons while performing Stand-Up Comedy from Charleston, SC to Savannah, Ga. Steve has hosted comedy at Savannah’s Premier Comedy and Jazz Club ‘Spats,’ and Beaufort County’s World Famous Club ‘Night Moves,’ before moving Misplaced Comedy to their main headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. He still does National voice work and plans to continue in film and theater, while producing independent music… And of course… The Misplaced Comedy Group.

Jeff Prekop

Jeff Prekop, Co-Founder of The Misplaced Comedy Group, originates from Cleveland, Ohio. However it wasn’t until moving to South Carolina, that he had found his calling as a performing artist. Jeff has worked with The Raphael Sabatini Group of U.S.C.B., The Pushcart Players at the Port Royal Clubhouse, The S.C. Playwrights Conference as well as The Beaufort Little Theatre. Jeff can also be heard on local radio stations voicing commercials, as well as be seen in Rick Hendrix Jeep/Chrysler television commercials. With hopes to make the jump to the big screen, Jeff has performed in National talent competitions, where he took home several awards. It had been said during the beginnings of Misplaced Comedy, that both Steve and Jeff, were “The Bob & Bing of the Low Country”, as their work, along with The Pushcart Players, got them on the cover of Arts and Entertainment.
Jeff’s idea for the song “The Bin Laden Banana Boat Song”, put Misplaced Comedy on the map. In helping to create the “Comic Relief in America’s grief” campaign, both Jeff and Steve ran several campaigns to help raise funds for the American Red Cross. The Song became #1 on the famed MP3.com’s comedy charts for 6 straight months, aired on both CNN Headline News, Fox News and landed them on morning radio broadcasts throughout 3 continents.
Jeff continues to collaborate with everyone, while also stopping in on The Potluck Podcast once in a while, to lend some funny bits to their goofy showcase.

Throughout the years, Bob has always had his hand in pretty much everything. His attributes to Misplaced Comedy have helped them to become mainstream on the internet, long before anyone actually had the computers to watch us. From programing and helping to create the First Original Podcasts, in 2004-05, or to be able to run videos from the original website, a full year before YouTube existed. Bob has flung his body across stages while performing The Blind Ballet with Steve, while creating some of the funniest songs and sketches found on their earlier CDs. He still remains Steve’s best friend, while hanging out with everyone on the weekly show The Potluck Podcast, on Podbean.
….and he REALLY does like corn on the cob.

Growing up in Chicago, Jan attended “The Actor’s Institute” under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Rose. During that time, She portrayed Chloe in “Sheridans of Chicago” on C.A.N. TV19, a soap opera also written and directed by Dr. Rose. From there, she trained in improv and sketch comedy at The Second City for several years, and still performs as her “Doris Schlockman”, a charater developed during her time at Second City. She was featured on “Last Comic Standing”, and was an active member in various comedy groups: “Whose Kids Are These Anyway” , “Udder Chaos” , “Gag Reflux”, “Florida’s Studio Theater” and eventually became the founder, writer and director of “The Beaver Island Comedy Group”. She has performed at “K.J. Riddles Comedy Stop”, “The Funny Bone”, “Fins Comedy Club”, “Comedy Revue”, “Ringside Two”, “Visani’s” and “McCurdy’s Comedy Club” …just to name a few. Jan’s film credits include, “The Package” from Orion Productions, and “An Uneasy Silence” from Full Circle Films. She also spent time on the stage as the lead role in “The Bad Year of Tomatoes”. With her character of “Doris Schlockman” always bringing laughs, Jan considers her greatest works to be a scripted television series called “Opening Act” and a children’s book about fairies called “Twinkleville”. As she once told Spike O’Dell on his W.G.N. radio show out of Chicago, “I will know I have made it when Doris and I are on “Saturday Night Live”…
…but we guess The Misplaced Comedy Group will do… LOL!
Linda Cleet

Linda Cleet is a Long Island native. But an employment relocation program gone wrong landed her in the company of Misplaced Comedy… It’s a longer story than that, but we really don’t have the server space. Long story short, Steve was dating (and eventually married) her sister.
She joined Misplaced Comedy while voicing several sketches during the making of “Misplaced Holiday” CD, and was a natural from the start. Linda was most definitely not new to the stage. From the time she was 4 through High School, she was both a tap dancer and instructor. In 1996 she won the town title of “Miss Wantagh,” then competed for “Miss New York.” After her day job moved her to Sarasota, Florida, she then competed in The Miss Florida USA Pageant. Linda then landed the role of Riza in the interactive dinner theater production of “Grandma Sylvia’s Funeral,” where a majority of the Misplaced Comedy Players took parts in. It was there they all decided that she should be a part of the team. She became one of the most versatile performers in the group, playing parts like Little Suzie and Mitzie Muffingham, along with “many” of the voices found throughout the many CDs and podcasts. Steve often called her “Their Goldie Hawn”, when referring to her many talents as well as her antics with Misplaced Comedy’s Joke Board, a wall that has The MCG Logo with hidden doors that was inspired by Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In. Linda also voiced “Poo Corner w/ Dr. Linda”, an exclusive segment on The Potluck Podcast.

Ken was born at a young age in Detroit, Michigan, where he learned knife fighting and mastered the use of several Klingon weapons. His acting career began at the age of four when he would stand at the top of the stairs and scream obscenities to his family while picking his nose and placing the boogers in a lovely pattern on the walls. He moved to Sarasota as a teenager where he was constantly ridiculed for his enormous head. It was this torment that led him to comedy. Why this makes sense, we have no idea…. BUT! Ken’s been a superstar for The MCG, and all their productions since 2009. From the many voices found on the CDs, OR.. being really the only one fit enough to wear a “Speedo” during filming, OR… Singing the Best version of “She’s A Lady” ever heard, ever… during The MCG’s Murder Mystery Mayhem dinner theater… Ken’s remarkable talent can surely be noticed in everything he does.
Kerri Stringer

Born in Anderson, Indiana, began performing at the tender age of 6 years old. Since then she has been a ‘feather on the wind’ living and performing in most of the 50 states before settling down in Tarpon Springs, FL with her husband and 4 ‘kids’ (3 cats and a parrot named ‘Grinch’). Her career has taken her from being the youngest vocalist with the elite group ‘Singing Hoosiers’ to being the on-camera marketing spokesperson for Chrysler Corporation’s Dealership Training Network. Her talents and skills were totally appreciated, because she could also edit and produce, which helped out tremendously with many of the audio and video productions. One can see and hear her on a bunch of the songs, sketches and videos from the Back for More Abuse era. The music video of “Eye Boogers” still shows as one of our biggest downloads on Youtube. She continues to keep in shape with her fitness studio, Intensity Micro Fitness, as we hope to hear more of her voice as Wonder Woman in future episodes of the Elderly Superfolks.

This Florida native once held the world in his hand. But after losing his mojo due to a tragic accident during the World Cup Under Water Basket Weaving Championships, everything changed over night. It was now the World… that held him in its hands. In an attempt to find his mojo he started telling people that he was in some sort of Comedy Troupe. Which worked really well with girls in the local bar scene, that is until people started trying to look for him on-line. He figured in order to regain his mojo he had to join a comedy troupe for real. Once reunited with his mojo he can then finish demonizing the world of Underwater Basket Weaving and retire teaching the blind how to yodel.
J can actually be found in MCG videos going back before there was YouTube! His first role was the boyfriend, because he actually was, in the video TumbleWeed. Since then, he’s been heard throughout the CDs, videos, and even performed the Blind Ballet! …Because, let’s face it… everyone wants to at least try the Blind Ballet.

From Colorado to Florida, via West Virginia and Arizona…
Mac Kearney somehow ended up in Sarasota, Florida… And joined up with the weirdest group of people he could find, The Misplaced Comedy Group. A six foot-four, 225 lb. I.T. Director, this computer networking pro has all the personality and spunk that you would expect from a computer geek. With his amazing singing voice, appetite for chicken wings, thinning hair and disturbing sense of humor, Mac had no problem fitting in with the group. You can see him freaking out with glee in the video “Hooked On Narcotics”, but he won people’s hearts as “Sasquatch, the computer repair man”, during the “Misplaced Mayhem (Live and Video) Shows”. Mac continues to be the coolest guy ever, with hopes to become the next “Most Interesting Guy In The World”.
Annie Jackson

Annie was born in the deep dark woods and raised by savages… or Mormons, whichever you prefer. She started acting in reenactments of Joseph Smith around the campfire, until one day she was ‘discovered.’ She studied at Eastern Arizona College, where she played Marty in Grease, and various other roles. One of which won her a chance to perform in Las Vegas, which led her to a night in a Mexican Jail…. Somehow she ended up in Sarasota, Florida where she joined The Misplaced Comedy Group, with hopes to never go back to that Mexican Jail ever again. Funny thing she only told us that story after she sang the song “Too Pretty For Prison”, for the “Unreal Estate” CD. Annie is a super talent. She’s the only one we’ve met that could actually sing with her mouth closed. If you don’t believe us, there’s a video ..somewhere, from our live shows to prove it!

Former poker champion at the annual Alzheimer’s Hold’em Tournament, three years running… Eric, is a golf instructor at the Academy for the Blind. However, he is currently under evaluation at his position for making “Are you Blind?!!” comments as well as creating a Fight Club in the basement of the Academy.
In his spare time, he believes he’s found his calling as a Stand-Up comedian, performing throughout the South East. Providing dry, sarcastic and observational humor, with an array of impressions… Eric believes he’s found his “Big Break” by getting his foot in the door with The Misplaced Comedy Group… (ROTFLOL… Just wait til he sees his benefits package!)
Eric is one cleaver and funny guy as he came up with several bits for the “Another Elfin’ Holiday” CD, as well as his antics in the Misplaced Mayhem murder mystery dinner theater events. Today Eric continues to do standup comedy throughout the land, as we hope to get him back into the studio again soon.
Erica Pead

Erica was born in Meriden, Connecticut. However, 4 years, 7 months, 1 week, 3 days, 17 hours and 23 minutes, (give or take a minute or two), later she arrived in Florida on New Year’s Eve. She grew up trying everything but liking nothing. Finally, at age 13 she knew she wanted to be an animator by being inspired by her cousin who never responds anymore… and now she’s in this Group thingie. Erica can be heard throughout the “Back for More Abuse” CD, as well as the many videos during that time. Even with her dry humor, Erica completely brings a youthful energy to the group. She currently lives in California, living her dream as an animator.

Bryan Eric Stanley Ellsworth Tupper has been in as many productions as he has names. His most seen appearance was in the movie “The Jackal.” Where he can be viewed in the Chicago firecracker scene as the boy holding his ears. He registers as a Re-punk-lican (Republican with the appearance of a punk/goth). He loves his momma and A.1. Steak Sauce. Bryan was also in the Full Moon Theater Company’s production of “Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding.”
Among his compliments to Misplaced Comedy, His talents also include: dance, jazz, tap, and ballet. Yes, that is right, a comedian who knows ballet! He has met both President Bushes whilst they were president, and is very proud if it! Graduating with a Political Science degree, he interned at the White House, while acting as President of the Young Republican Federation. He’s been a part of both Theater Games and Misplaced Mayhem tours, as well as heard on the Good Eats, Absurd Sensationalism, Misplaced Holidays and Unreal Estate CDs. He was also the lead actor in the music video “Lust”, from Grabo’s first solo music CD. He continues to pursue in the political arts, while practicing in the arts of social media.

Stan enjoys writing about himself in the third person and comes from a background of traditional theatre as opposed to improvisation. Hailing from Hutchinson, MN, he is an actor, singer, composer, and writer. His previous credits include Nickelodeon’s game show “Think Fast”, and bit parts in movies like “Breaking In” and “Drugstore Cowboy”.
He really enjoys the freedom he has with MCG in writing and performing song parodies like “Martha’s American Pie” and original songs like “Bi-Curious George”. Stan sang both songs as part of Misplaced Comedy’s 2003-2004 “Theater Games” mini tour. Someday he hopes to make a successful transition to Screenwriter, Matinee Idol, and Multi-Platinum selling recording artist but he’s not holding his breath.
Tami Vaughan

Tami was born in the Big Apple, but moved to Florida at the ripe age of 10, so she considers herself half Yankee and half Floridian. She’s been acting since she was a baby, appearing in Dreft and Kleenex commercials, and she’s been on stage ever since third grade where she was in the musical Hansel and Gretal. She claims she can still remember the songs, but we haven’t heard them… yet. She graduated from MJC and USF with a BA in Fine Arts, then headed back to NYC, where she appeared with the Village Light Opera Group. She’s been seen all through SW Florida, including The Island Players and Riverfront Theaters, where she performed in the series “Cafe Noir”, which she found very challenging but exciting.
Tami joined the Misplaced Cast in April of 2003. Her charming personality, talent, wit and good looks rounds out this quirky bunch. She was most definitly ‘the sane one’ of the crew. During the 2003-04 “Theater Games” shows, she was the first to play “Little Suzie”, in the sketches of “Harsh Reality”.
Allen Kretschmar

Allen was born and raised in the Midwest and moved to the Sunshine State when he was thirty. He has appeared in night clubs, cabarets, Renaissance Faires, dinner theatres and theme parks, all over the United States, including four years as a performer/writer/director for Walt Disney World. Allen has performed as a writer/director of children’s theatre and directed a Commedia del’Arte comedy troupe in Pennyslvania. On stage, he has performed such diverse roles as Falstaff in THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, Sir Andrew Aguecheek in TWELFTH NIGHT, Nanki Poo in THE MIKADO, the Cowardly Lion in THE WIZARD OF OZ, the title roles in JEKYLL AND HYDE, and Don Quixote in MAN OF LA MANCHA. Allen has also performed in three runs of the cabaret MY WAY: A TRIBUTE TO FRANK SINATRA. Allen is married to fellow MCG member Joyce Kretschmar (“My greatest blessing, my best friend, the love of my life and my number one fan!” says Allen). Allen is an historian of slapstick comedy, and an eternal fan and student of the works of Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy, and the Marx Brothers. He definitely brings that same spirit of fun and laughter to the MCG! His powerful voicings of “Rationalization Man” always makes everyone crack up laughing.

As a young Jersey girl, who's half Italian and the oldest of 8 kids in a Catholic family (her parents were the last people in NJ to get cable), How do you think she'd turn out? ... Joyce has been making people laugh on and off stage her whole life and created her own original character, "Miss ReJoyce", who's been sighted all over Sarasota County and is determined to become the next outrageous talk show host (Oprah, call me!). She admits too being old enough to remember The Carol Burnett Show and The Sonny & Cher Show. Joyce is passionate about bringing back the clean family comedy hour to prime time TV with a great cast of costumed characters. Which makes her a nice fit with everyone here at The MCG.

Originally from NY State, Yea the other side, …where that American/Canadien football team plays….
Melissa made her acting debut at the age of 7 in a first grade production of Peter Rabbit. Don’t forget that Willy Wonka thing at the age of 8. Look out a star was born. Melissa moved to Florida in June 1995 to get away from shoveling snow. Her local work includes commercials for SCTI and Security Link. Melissa joined the Misplaced Comedy Group in May of 2003 at a live show without rehearsing… or knew anyone. Needless to say, she ROCKED THE HOUSE! She joined The MCG just in time to perform on the “Theater Games” shows, and stuck around for both “Absurd Sensationalism” and “Misplaced Holidays” CDs. She even came back to fill in for various voices for “Bob The Chicken” and The Potluck Podcast. She’s here to live life, have fun, or die trying. Quite frankly, Is there really any other reason?
Loren Evans

A very physical actor, whose dexterity and agility makes for great comedic entertainment! Originally from Florida’s West Coast, Loren played in many different productions through out Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Most recently he took up the knack of improv through the Comedy Group “Short-Bus,” and by playing Dominic in the interactive comedy “Tony &Tina’s Wedding.” His background also includes Shakespeare, and the flying around as John in Peter Pan. When not womanizing, he loves showing off his ability of placing his legs behind his head. His father was Gerg Allman’s personal roadie, and helped “allocate” speakers for the sound system during the 2003 Theater Games Mini-Tour. Something we ALL appreciated during that time. Loren planed for a successful career in pornography, while developing his ambidexterity in comedy. After some time.., He was last seen helping thousands of people all over the world through his work with the Peace Corps. Either that, or he was out scouting for talent. We do hope to see him again soon.

Steve met Angela during a run of Tony & Tina’s Wedding, after many years they found each other through social media. Angela is a “super talent”, as she came in and voiced both Beaver Island, and The Night Before Christmas (In The Bronx), for the “Another Elfin’ Holiday” CD, pretty much in 2 takes! She is an absolute natural in everything she does and a super mom! We are absolutely blessed to have her in our company. We hope to have her back for more comedy, in the very near future!

Steve’s old boss at a radio conglomerate, but after they were both were bounced from a corporate takeover, they somehow wound up being next door neighbors! It was at John’s backyard bonfires, where a majority of the original concepts for the first 2 CDs came about. “We’d think ‘em up, and then go to Steve’s makeshift guest room / studio, or whatever it was to record on his rent-a-center computer”. Those were definitely fun, yet uncertain times for us all. John came up with a bunch of the comedic tag lines and voices for the CD “The Afghan Files”, while also kidnapping Steve to go and meet Billy Graham during the Million Man Crusade Dinner event. Which Steve still believes was absolutely surreal….
Steve’s first encounter with John was after arriving in South Carolina, Gradick and another John, took Steve out for lunch to “get to know him”, but instead and got him all “gooned” over a bucket of beer. They then took Steve back to the Radio Station to be interviewed by the Owner of the radio conglomerate. Gradick then turned to Steve and said.. “Uh, here’s a stick of gum. ..Good Luck!” John is most definitely one of the funniest guys around. He and his entire family are a treasure. We truly miss those times around the bonfire with him and his wife, and all their kids running around. Fun times.

New arrivals to the craziness of Misplaced Comedy… These two mischievous models were born and raised in Oshkosh, Wi, before migrating to Florida. We say mischievous, because they like to play “switcheroo” during productions and no one is the wiser. …ugh, twins right?… Stories of them switching places started back in elementary school, and as far as we know they’ve only been caught once… in high school, which led to a 3 day suspension. …So, you know they’ll fit right in with the rest of the group.
Both are mothers to four terrific children, how they stay fit, we’ll never know. They’re also surrounded by a close knit & loving family… and, of course, everyone here at Misplaced Comedy. They can be seen in the music video “Speedo”, hanging out with everyone on the boat, dancing… if that’s what they call it. Steve just said, “move around with your arms like THIS… and.. Action!” Somehow, it all worked.
Jennifer Feliciano

Jennifer was born and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina, and is the youngest of 6 children in a Japtist family (Part Jewish – Part Baptist). She was one of the original founding members of The Misplaced Comedy Group, when she wasn’t partaking in her Stand-up / comedic acting career. Jennifer has performed in several stage productions throughout South Carolina’s Low Country, as well as headlined Stand-Up comedy in Beaufort County’s comedy clubs Night Moves and J.P. Boogies. Steve met Jennifer during her audition for HBO, at Night Moves, where Steve, never having done standup before, opened up for her. They instantly became friends and she hooked both Steve and Jeff up with her agent. Steve and Jeff then got her to perform with The Pushcart Players, while they all worked on their theater games throughout South Carolina’s Low Country.
Her voice can be heard on many radio commercials as well as Misplaced Comedy’s sketch of “The Sexual Olympics”. She continues to act and perform Stand-Up comedy with hopes to venture into the film and television industry.
Dave Prekop
2001-2003
Dave Prekop, also comes from Cleveland, Ohio… and is the older brother of Jeff, and had already spent time performing Stand-Up comedy, prior to being asked to join the group. Dave’s played many pivotal roles throughout the Low Country of South Carolina. He’s performed Shakespeare on the big stage, as well as with the Raphael Sabatini Group of U.S.C.B. where he performed with his brother in “The Importance Of Being Earnest.” He has performed Stand-up throughout his stage career and all over the circuit in Cleveland, Ohio. He also claimed that he dated Holly Berry, back when they were in high school together, but there’s no pictures to prove that… that we know of. She also hasn’t responded to any inquiries. Dave’s voice can also be found throughout Low Country Radio (Demographically, that’s from North/South Carolina & Parts of Georgia… for those who don’t know) People have also mentioned that he’s the best looking of the Misplaced Comedy Group, but relax girls… He’s married. His voice can be heard on the Misplaced Holidays’ CD, narrating “The Mafia Before Christmas”.
Kevin Allen

Kevin Allen is a Chicago native and a failed art thief. He graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia in the Spring of 2003 with a double major in Theater and English. Go Tigers! At Mizzou, he was a proud member of the legendary improv troupe, Comedy Wars. He was also a founding member of Cherry Street Improv in Columbia. Prior to joining The MCG, Kevin was in the feature film, Bottleneck, while performing his one man show is entitled “The UnAlaskan.” Big ups to Buttercup, Big G, and all my boys in B Pod 117 at the BCJ! Kevin Joined the Misplaced Crew in August of 2003, and added a plethora of talent to the cast of Misplaced Characters. His writing abilities, character development, and improv skills are a salute. Heck, He may have even learned us a few things! He was also cast, along with Grabo, for the feature film “Yes, And...” in 2004. He can also be seen performing improv at The Florida Studio Theater, in Sarasota.

Traci can be seen touring the circuit pretty much everywhere as “The Princess of Parodies”, but for a short time she was a part of The MCG, during the move from South Carolina to Florida. Traci met Steve during the run of Fool Moon Theater’s version of “Tony & Tina’s Wedding”, where they stole the show as Connie and Barry (Maid of Honor and Best Man). It was said that original cast members of the show saw them and loved their take of the characters and the performance. Traci can be heard throughout the 2003 “Good Eats” CD, although she left prior to the Theater Games Tour, she assisted Steve in helping to recreate a new logo for the group, as they were planning a new state of the art website, back in 2003-04. She continues to tour, making people laugh with her many song parodies and hypnosis shows.

Vince was only around for a short time, but during that time he helped get some locations to perform throughout Venice, Florida. He was around for a bunch of the promotional photos, and improv shows leading up to the relocation to Sarasota, Florida. He can be heard, as well as came up with a few concepts for 2003’s “Good Eats” CD. Very funny guy!
